There’s no single way to experience Basque culture. You might find it in music, craft, language, sport, food or the rituals of everyday life. It depends on what you’re curious about, and who we can introduce you to.

The questions we are asked most before a journey like this one.
What kind of craftspeople will we meet?
Potters, weavers, boatbuilders, makila makers and txistu players, depending on the season and who is working that week. We only introduce people we know.
Is this a workshop or a visit?
Both, if you want it to be. Most makers are happy to put a tool in your hand, and nobody is obliged to take it.
Do we need to be fit for the rural parts?
No. There is walking, but at a village pace. Tell us about any mobility needs and we plan the days around them.
Can this be combined with food and wine?
Yes, and it usually is. Culture here is not separate from the table: the festival, the cider house and the workshop belong to the same week.
